Over 200 protesters hound the state government over Logan Greyhound Track plans

Two hundred and thirty people, along with dozens of rescued greyhounds, attended the Don’t let Logan go to the Dogs rally in the long-running campaign to try and stop the Logan greyhound track going ahead. As well as plenty of Animal Liberation Qld supporters, other greyhound protection groups who attended in large numbers included Animal Welfare League (Qld), Friends of the Hound, and Gone Are the Dogs.  We thank them sincerely for their ongoing support.  Grey2K USA Worldwide was also an official partner.

Speakers at the protest included Hayley Cotton, Animal Liberation Qld Greyhound Campaign spokesperson, The Greens candidate and vocal opponent of the track, Scott Thompson, and twelve year old Luca Thompson (no relation) who is already a passionate and articulate advocate for greyhounds.

It was a tremendously successful protest which received plenty of media attention including a segment on the main bulletin of 7 News, a lengthy article in the Brisbane Times, and the Page 1 headline of the Sun-Herald.  Thank you to everyone who participated! This campaign grows from strength to strength.
