Here's 6 reasons to love pigs, not eat them

Pigs are often considered dirty and lazy but people who know them compare them to dogs because they are friendly and loyal. Winston Churchill once said "pigs treat us as equals".

They enjoy spending time outdoors  exploring their surroundings, sunbaking and playing. They're also very social and constantly communicate with each other. Did you know pigs have a wide range of different oinks, grunts and squeals which have their own meanings? There's a lot more to these animals than we're led to believe.

On behalf of pigs, we’d like to tell you why these smart, beautiful creatures should be friends, not food. You should leave pork off your plate and choose to love these adorable animals because:

THEY ARE INTELLIGENT

Pigs are intelligent and insightful animals. It is widely accepted that they are smarter than 3 year old children. They love exploring and have been found to have a good sense of direction to navigate their way home.

THEY ARE INCREDIBLY SOCIAL

Pigs are extremely social animals. They form close bonds with other individuals and love close contact and lying down together.

THEY KNOW HOW TO HAVE FUN

Pigs love to cool off in mud baths - after which they'll happily trot off and find a place in the shade. There's also a colony of pigs that live on a beach in the Bahamas. Pigs can't fly, but they certainly can swim!

THEY LOVE GETTING COZY

Pigs love snuggling close to one another and will sleep nose to nose.

THEY MAKE GOOD HOUSEGUESTS

It is a huge misconception that pigs "live in pig sty". In fact, they are very clean animals and are careful not to soil their living areas.

People don't usually see the reality of the lives of millions of pigs suffering on factory farms in Australia. These sensitive, intelligent animals spend their entire lives in filthy, crowded conditions where they are unable to express their natural behavious and suffer terribly. Many then endure a slow, agonising death. YOU can make a compassionate (and healthier) choice by not eating pork products.
